9 days agoCost was one of my motivations, but it wasn’t cost to me. Most of the people using my server definitely can’t afford to subscribe to all those streaming services.

I’m in favor just requiring AI-generated code to be tagged in some obvious place in the post. If there’s a full restriction on it, I think quite a few people would just try to hide the fact that it was vibe-coded and post anyway,
Huh, no idea why it’s not working. It’s definitely not the fact that your phone isn’t rooted, since mine isn’t either. I’m running GrapheneOS on Android 17, so it might just be something in my version of Android.
Settings - > Apps - > Special App Access - > All Files Access.
IIRC there’s a special setting to give it full access that you actually have to go into settings to add (you can’t just add it from the prompts).

Jellyfin has plugins fro both LDAPand OIDC, though IIRC the OIDC one isn’t great.
Reverse proxy to jellyfin looks identical to a normal streaming service from a user’s perspective.
Out of curiosity, what “critical functionality” was it lacking?

It seems like the criteria for making it on there is fairly lax. Nextcloud makes a list by simply having an AI assistant as an optional (user-facing) feature, while none of the actual code appears to be AI-generated.
Maybe the budget was planned out before RAM prices spiked. 128 gigs of used server RAM was not that expensive before that happened.
presumably it’s not a 10 gigabit fiber plan.

The client apps are a lot better these days too.
That’s $14 to $30 a month per subscription per user. I’ve got close to a dozen people using mine, most of which can very much not afford those kind of subscriptions.
