For me it’s a bit different - just installing things to get build123d to work is an insurmountable obstacle. Because I’m not a programmer it’s rage-inducing. But I guess that’s how this stuff goes 😉

I’m just now downloading the other standalone thing. But I have to say the state of the thing is discouraging, I’m wondering why even try if it really doesn’t function at all

I just tried again, none of the options works. Like nothing works at all except the standalone thing that’s like 200megs

edit: ok, the timimi thing works really well, I missed it somehow. This way the thing makes sense, no need for a huge ass app, just like 3 megs of addon and it works weeee

I never even managed to make it work, I remember it needed some kind of plugin for saving. That sucks pretty bad, and if I’m gonna host I’d use something else entirely. Maybe it works better now?

That’s true, I’m not a fan of the way they handle the paid parts of the app, the user creation and administration is as basic as it gets - and doing it through docker shell or whatever is a huge pain in the ass. But most of the other stuff is sort of ok, I pay for the thing but I rarely if ever use the map. Main thing is it just doesn’t crash (knock on wood)

I got Photoprism, it works much better than immich in that it works and doesn’t break. Satisfied my needs, although you need a bunch of android apps. Still, it works and doesn’t give me any lip

There is also ondsel, which is basically freecad with some polish maybe. It looks the same to me. But one day when they solve the topology renaming thing and when they have an interface that’s not openly hostile I’d love to try it

A serious question - when will nvidia stop selling their products and start asking for rent? Like 50 bucks a month is a 4070, your hardware can be a 4090 but thats a 100 a month. I give it a year

Yeah, I like that too but for now it’s too expensive for me. And the selfhosting part is much too complicated (as usual)

You could maybe try self hosting it? Must say I tried but gave up in the end, and I’d like to hear about something like Vikunja because it really seems nice

Search by tags is broken, like in most software. But it seems really nice, and the design and polish is really good.
