I’m not sure what the benefits of unraid are but for better or worse, I’ve been running Linux servers since 2007 or so, so……
I also used arch now and full time for a few years in the 2010s. I like it, but they put in breaking changes occasionally that I don’t want to have to deal with for a server.
I was on CentOS and switched to Debian because of IBM/RH
Are you going to save without knowing what changes were made? Bold move.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Can someone test if it's their computer that loads my site too?English
81·2 months agoI’m not going to test this because while it could be innocuous, well, it could be harmful as well. If this is hosted in a local network, take your phone or laptop to a place with free WiFi and test. Also make sure the subdomain resolves to an IP address. You can go to cmd in Windows, or open up a terminal and type “ping craigsworld.dedyn.io”. If it’s not a reserved IP and you can access it outside your local network you’re good.

1·3 months agoNot yet, my WM largely negates the need but in the case of WSL I do use screen. I’ll see if it’s available easily with Ubuntu and try it out.
Thank you

2·3 months agoI guess mayhaps I’m not the target audience as I can achieve this effect with existing tools and I avoid GUI whenever possible.
Maybe also not the target OS, but sometimes ssh isn’t installed by default either. It would be cool if you add rsync as a prereq

103·3 months agoHave you tried gnome-terminal for a tabbed minimal UI for ssh? How about rsync for transferring files? How about ssh-copy-id?
What is the point of this project?
You know, Jigsaw is right: this is a perfectly good wheel. We don’t have to reinvent it, but we can wrap it in something to make it more intuitive.

They are trying but Microsoft emailed my work email, yes on office 365, that now is a great time to try Copilot
Microsoft had a “bug” in which after you update, even though you have copilot disabled, would show the icon anyway.
