My library almost got wiped out when my backup HDD started to fail. Managed to duplicate it onto a new SSD, now I’m fine.

I just tried this out. Besides the fact that it doesn’t stream and translates after speech is done, it’s absolutely fantastic. Of course, it would suffer in accuracy if it were translating a stream so I think that’s a plus instead of a minus, although some people might not think so.
This looks really cool, thanks for sharing! I’m a rhvoice user for tts and for stt I use Sayboard with vosk model because I cannot find a single application for Android besides google stuff that integrates as an assistant. I wonder if this does that or if they plan to, seems a bit out of scope for this project.
A notebook and a pen.
A clean redshift application for Android, like redmoon. I found something but it’s not quite there.
FolderSync on android. It’s the only automatic sync application I’ve found that syncs to mydrive.ch.
Also a couple of UI apps, BarLauncher, which is a notification thing that let’s you put app icons to launch from the notification drop down, and LaunchyWidget, like a scrolling “fence” to dump app icons in on your home screen. They’re both so simple, I’m surprised that nobody has built FOSS versions of them.
On my PC I don’t use any proprietary software at all.
Yeah I know, libgen does too and libgen actually has a full IPFS version of it’s archive complete wity a client available over IPNS. I use IPFS and like it but integrating it sucks really bad.
So I love IPFS, I love the idea of it. I think it’s great.
But try integrating it into a project and see what happens. Here is a fun example. Development of IPFS is unfortunately a disorganized mess.
I’d love to build an application that loads resources from IPFS, such as a library specifically for books that stores an index of books, like libgen, or uncensorable front ends for smart contracts and things, but IPFS integration is sub par. The situation all round just sucks.
What happened to telling governments to go fuck themselves? I remember when it was on the governments to police their citizens and if software violated their laws it was on the government to stop citizens accessing it. Why can they just not comply?
Not too hard to do with wireguard. You have to split traffic, because if you tunnel all traffic to the paid VPN, you can only access it by pointing at the IP address of that paid VPN so it doesn’t really help. If youre using firefox VPN, it’s just a private labelled Mullvad VPN, so no port forwarding so this wouldn’t work at all.
So what you have to do is allow your home machine running the wireguard server you use to connect to your home network accept direct connections from your devices. Then all outbound connections tunnel to your paid VPN. It’s a bit convoluted but there are plenty of walkthroughs online as to how to set up your firewall and network rules and wireguard configs to do it. You’ll be working with iptables and then traffic splitting with wireguard.
If you send me a screenshot of your code I’m not helping you, sorry.

I made this to help people solve this problem.
More on the “I want all my things in only one app” complaint, this is a marketing tactic by companies like YouTube. It’s not a reasonable expectation. If you want to watch videos, they’ll be on the video host that hosts them. Imagine if all the websites were on one website. That would suck, just like youtube and reddit. Just get over it.
We do have a technology to help us though, it’s called RSS. You can subscribe to just about anything using it, including youtube and peertube channels. Any website that doesn’t have RSS is not worth subscribing to.
Yeah archive then
