The only app in my opinion that has kind of reasonable size is their voice recognition, while it looks kind of ugly compared to Transcribro.
I think an icon of a microphone for a STT app is much much much better than that UX disaster Transcribo is. lol

This was what I thought as well. The PR was a simple request that I thought wasn’t political at all, just a matter of inclusion which I thought fit. Kling got aggressive thinking it was a political move or some shit then the rest piled on calling him names and such.
I think he just thought it was bringing politics into his project, I don’t think he was taking any sides at all but people made up their minds. His silence is a bit concerning, probably ignoring it all but, whatever, It’s his project.
Be the change you want to see. Make some games worth playing and release it as a FOSS and prove it can be a commercial success as well. See how it goes.
Asking people to release their work for free while providing very little incentives other than your own benefit aren’t going to convince people who need to put food on the table NOW, without relying on miniscule probability of popularity or success after pouring years of your time.
Developers also need to make money to live and survive. Why do you think you’re entitled to all of their work for free? If it’s such an inconvenience, you should try your hand at coding an alternative and giving all of it for free. We’re waiting.

The security issue was found in a development build, not a production release. There were no users to benefit from the CVE, because none were affected. If there were exceptions that were using development builds, it on them.

Honestly, in medium to big projects, 2 seems like mostly astroturfing from companies who really want to hide the fact that they benefit financially but use alt accounts to push toxic bullying like “you’re not following opensource principle, not foss this, not foss that, you do this or we’re going to make a scene” when maintainers try to get any semblance of authority over their own projects.
Linux was not a serious project and a random hobby toy things.

I’m doing a (free) operating system (just a hobby, won’t be big andprofessional like gnu) for 386(486) AT clones. This has been brewing since april, and is starting to get ready. I’d like any feedback on things people like/dislike in minix, as my OS resembles it somewhat (same physical layout of the file-system (due to practical reasons) among other things).
Try to be less condescending less time about other people’s work.
They didn’t but open source enthusiasts hate it when developers even try to imply not wanting their contributions used without attribution, it’s basically killing puppies in this community.
They’ll only ever use it to make money themselves without anything in return just like the corporations who do the same but then they’ll call themselves morally principled for reasons.
