Some sites don’t load because of some features disabled in Librewolf. You can enable them and have the sites load, but it defeats the purpose of the Librewolf configuration choices. Nonetheless this is still an option :)

When I first heard about Zen, I’ve tested it with EFF like I do for all web browsers I experiment with (from most mainstream to most unknown). Unfortunately, it doesn’t offer a full privacy.
Not everyone cares, but if this is something important for you, Librewolf has been the only one to come up with a full privacy protection result. Maybe you could achieve a good result if you use Arkenfox with Firefox… I didn’t try it.

Looking for something else I ended up on MusicPlayerPlus which may check lots of the boxes, especially those not covered by ncmpcpp which is my favorite mpd frontend.

Doing that I can see the loading bar for half a second when reopening the app. As stated on the app webpage this is certainly to update the database with any new images but it doesn’t rebuild the entire database from scratch.
Maybe your cache gets deleted automatically when you close the app on your device. Make sure you have no other app that may do so.
This doesn’t sound like the normal behavior. From the app description: “This indexing process may take some time, but it’s a one-time event. Once this initial indexing process is complete, the app will store the index on your device, and any new photos you add to your photo library will be automatically added to the index on the subsequent app launches.”
If your experience is different you may let the dev know so they can fix it.
It’s been a long time since I checked the config options but yt-fzf only supports mpv as media player I think.
Yt-fzf is still an option if you’re interested.
If you’re looking for an in-browser alternative I’d highly recommend you take a look at the LibRedirect extension for Firefox and Chromium. It’ll automatically redirect any youtube URL to your preferred alternative between Invidious, Piped, PokeTube, CloudTube, Tubo, FreeTube, or Yattee.
If you’re looking for an external app and like using a Linux terminal then ytfzf may be a good choice. I’ve briefly talked about it here. It will even allow you to search on Youtube (through invidious), Peertube, and Odysee if you so desire.
If looking for a phone app, I personally like NewPipe.

Yeah I avoid close source as much as possible and forgot about Magic Earth. As you noticed the features and privacy policy were sufficient to me to make an exception.
For Yuito, here is the F-Droid link that also lists the difference with Tusky (which I used first).
That’s why he get me: minimalism is my motto ;)
Another suggestion: Magic Earth for navigation
Also curious to know if we’ll see you on mastodon one day? (my client is Yuito btw)
Great. If you search for Goodwy in Aurora for example you’ll find a bunch of apps starting with “Right”. Here is the list on GitHub as well: https://github.com/Goodwy
I may have additional suggestions if you’re interested.
Any mastodon client? Also can I recommend the Right apps collection from Goodwy and Voyager as Lemmy client (I think they match the requirements to figure on your list).
I’ve been watching on the framework machines for my next one. It looks like fwupd support them for BIOS updates. Framework owners will know more for sure.
I use the open source KISS launcher for years now. Your data never leaves your device, and you can expect to save battery life and speed up your device compared to complex and bloated launchers. KISS is just 250 KB and never connects to the Internet.
The best thing is that - behind a simplistic configuration menu - you can configure it from an ultra minimalist black screen with one text box to call when you need to launch an app, search for a contact, search on internet… to a full app drawer organized however you want (alphabetical order, your own defined categories…). It’s just insane and unfortunately so much overlooked.
I have haptic feedback disabled globally. I don’t know if there’s an option in KISS for that.
The web browser app should be defined at the system level by defining your default apps in Android. Search engines can be defined in the “search settings” of KISS.
It really depends on your needs and what’s important for you in the services you use.
For personal use I go with disroot and k9 for client.
Here is a quite detailed overview
But they also more than email service: cloud service, collaborative tools, messenger service, calendar and tasks, paste bin…
I’m hosting my blog (using Hugo) on codeberg. Here is a quick howto.
The easiest option to post online for free with zero coding skills is bearblog. I’ve used it before hosting my blog on codeberg. Bearblog let you publish and organize your blog using an insanely simple interface.
There’s also the gemini option that’s worth considering. There are plenty of easy way to publish there. To cite a few: flounder, gemlog.blue, pollux.casa
