I miss the time when phpbb forums were ubiquitous. And they allowed for way more expressiveness than a Discord "Server"could ever be.

Ooh that’s a strong argument. Kudos!
sure sure, but the review is about an OPINIONATED SOFTWARE e.g. the Opinions of DHH. So of course it should be part of the review.
A shit opinion of Dhh is for example, that you can’t partition or use a partition as the target in the install script and have to sacrifice an entire disk…
And the merit of dhh is highly tarnished by him being an overall piece of shit. No, politics always matters.
And it also should come into focus when it’s about a highly opinionated piece of software

So in essence the sleepy steal more or less from the woke?

Also, I think it would be great to have a self-hosted AI assistant with voice to text, but I’m not sure if we are three yet.
you mean like MyCroft which has been abandoned?

Sadly it’s not FOSS (just mentioning since we are in FOSS community).
Oh yeah my bad.

I use Niagara Launcher, the paid pro variant, it has lots of icon customization and you can put a widget on the home screen. It expends also a Mediaplayer if playback is detected. You can have a pinned list of applications and can swipe to see all of your non-hidden apps, also as a list.
I’m also a sucker for List Launcher, it’s just so much cleaner than grids.

Well as I don’t have a dock in Niagara Pro I just go on with the apps I pinned:
Telephone, standard dailer from android : ✔️
WhatsApp, eeeeh: ❌ ❌ ❌
Discord: ❌
Firefox: ✔️
Proton Mail: well not FOSS (at least the paid tiers) but OSS
Proton Calendar: same thing
Jerboa: ✔️
Tusky: ✔️
Grayjay: I guess yeah to both (with license) ✔️
M.A.L.P: check and check ✔️

nice, then this software makes sense.

So no federating of content between wikimusic instances?

mhm… how feasible would be to have this software federating with other instances (maybe even with mastodon for contributing, liking, commenting)?

aaaaaaany moment. Iam running RC3 and its pretty solid.

Mhm I use Explo to pull from listenBrainz and write playlists.

Nah, you gotta poll their API they don’t support push.
But when it comes to playlists, the API allows vast possibilities when it comes to playlist management.

So something like ListenBrainz.org

I don’t get it, sorry.

The Message clearly stated that it was far-right, not left.
half-hearted foss. Sure it is easier to rely on existing infrastructure, but keeping documentation or discussions (all tools already baked into github) in a walled garden? For shame, it shows that they can’t be asses to actually get to know the tools they already have.
