It doesn’t have to be that way. At its core, the idea of an app that can connect people who need a service with people who can provide that service is good; it’s just the over-monetization that makes it awful.

In short, vibe coding kick-started an era in which humans could make computers do new things, rather than the stuff they’d been hard-wired to do at the factory or through installed “software” (another word for “apps”).
Yeah, it sure is a good thing we have AI. Now real people can make computers do the things they want! It’s a novel idea that previously was just unthinkable.
Just because it’s an edge case doesn’t mean 30% of your userbase won’t encounter it!
I work at a company whose entire business model is providing QA to other companies. I work directly with some very large, public companies, and some smaller ones. Almost all of them have some form of dedicated in-house QA, which we supplement.


Why not just make a secondary ‘real’ email account that you use exclusively for signing up for things? Gets around those problems and gives you a way to retrieve recovery emails if you ever actually need to.
