Programmer Humor@lemmy.ml•“Higher-Order Vibes” Are Killing the Vibe Coding IndustryEnglish
0·5 months agoIn short, vibe coding kick-started an era in which humans could make computers do new things, rather than the stuff they’d been hard-wired to do at the factory or through installed “software” (another word for “apps”).
Yeah, it sure is a good thing we have AI. Now real people can make computers do the things they want! It’s a novel idea that previously was just unthinkable.
Just because it’s an edge case doesn’t mean 30% of your userbase won’t encounter it!
I work at a company whose entire business model is providing QA to other companies. I work directly with some very large, public companies, and some smaller ones. Almost all of them have some form of dedicated in-house QA, which we supplement.

Free and Open Source Software@beehaw.org•Do you ever get scared of being eating up by a community for reporting problems.
2·2 years agoWhy not just make a secondary ‘real’ email account that you use exclusively for signing up for things? Gets around those problems and gives you a way to retrieve recovery emails if you ever actually need to.

It doesn’t have to be that way. At its core, the idea of an app that can connect people who need a service with people who can provide that service is good; it’s just the over-monetization that makes it awful.
