This is what I do. Stick a card between the back of your phone and the case and you can tap your phone like you would normally. No one knows the difference.

Glad I’m not the only one who uses Droid-ify for browsing only. I kinda felt bad like I hurt its feelings.

I had backed it up to an external drive. If I remeber correctly, there may be an option to remotely connect to google cloud from within the kopia app, but you don’t need to create any VM. I don’t have access to Windows to test it now, but you can always download the all the explore it.

I’ve used Kopia before and liked it. It’s cross platform and allows you to browse back through folders on a timeline like macOS Time Machine.

I have had good results with Tesseract. I had to export the PDF to individual jpegs, then batch OCR’d them with tesseract, then merged the individual pages back into a single PDF. If you don’t want to use command line and are okay with it not being open source, PDF24.org does a good job and does not charge.

Wow. I’ve been self hosting wallabag for articles and Nextcloud News for RSS. But I see Omnivore does both in one app and looks more polished! I’m going to try it.

Proton recently updated their calendar to include an option to share a calendar with anyone (so they do not need a Proton account to see events).

Another vote for syncthing. It just magically works in the background and is very reliable. I take a photo on my phone and within seconds it’s on my Photos library on my computer. (gThumb and/or Shotwell for Linux work well. )

I really like Nextcloud Tasks. It can sync with many apps: Tasks.org (Android), Reminders (Apple devices), Endeavour (Linux), and more.

Also you can have shared lists such as a shared grocery list that can both add two while still maintaining separate accounts.

If you dont want to host your own Nextcloud, there are third party providers you can use such as woelkli.com.
