All these “it escaped the lab” stories are just starting to sound like advertising now. “Ohh our AI is soooooooo good that it can figure out how to escape a lab and break in to a competitor. You should use it because it’s sooooo good!”

No one forced them to choose that license, and no one forced anyone to contribute to that project.

They have no memory actually. They are completely static. When you chat with them, every single previous prompt and response from that session is fed back through as if it were one large single prompt. They are just faking it behind a chat-like user interface. They most definitely do not learn anything after training is complete.

From a technical perspective, yes. I was looking at it from an angle where the company has released their own code via an agent they control. Sort of like calling Microsoft support and asking “hey, can you send me the source code for Office please?”
